Bug#689543: cdimage.debian.org: generic debian system switches gui from tty7 to tty8 when connecting ethernet

Whenever I connect my ethernet the system gui switches from tty7 to tty8. I downloaded this iso from debian.org. The system functions
properly but I am not sure why this generic version of debian is switching to tty8 when I connect to the internet. Thank you.
