I did some test on another machine, which has almost the same hardware
configuration (only difference is 2GiB more memory), and it appears
that the unofficial image:
1. works when burnt to CD (newly burnt)
2. does not work when dd to USB stick (tried two times)

I didn't try to use my old CD, as the new one works.
