Re: Syslinux "new/graphical menues"

Hi,

as you may have noticed, syslinux in testing supports now the new menus.
You can have a look at the screenshots here:
http://syslinux.zytor.com/screenshots.php

There is still the old menu we all know, and two additional modes:

  * Graphical (looks like grub and supports a splash-image)
  * Extended (looks like a DOS-program, has many configurable
and selectable options regarding to boot parameters)

I noticed that the current debian cds are not pulling syslinux out of
the archive. Are there any undertakings to let debiancd pulling newer
syslinux, and, is there any objections about using one of the new menu
modes?

Daniel

I just discover that http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/daily-builds/daily/arch-latest/i386/iso-cd/debian-testing-i386-netinst.iso
is still using ISOLINUX 2.04 2003-04-16.

Any good technical reason why you didn't migrate to the 3.x branch ??
