woody custom isolinux

Hi all,

I need to add a kernel image to the standard woody installation cd.
reading the isolinux documentation i did understand that i can add a 
kernel and a initrd file without re-make the isolinux three...just by 
adding the kernel and the initrd to the three, than editing the 
isolinux.cfg file.

is this true?
if not, can someone addressing me to solve my needs?
