evaluation version --- it allows only "test burn"ing.

And when you use that "test burn" feature, what happens if the 15-day
period is not yet over? So the CD does not get recorded?

No, test burning means nothing is actually burnt. The recorder goes through the entire motions without ever actually powering up the drive circuits on the laser source (LED or otherwise) so nothing is ever recorded onto the medium.
