Bug#340867: Booting install-2.4 fails with a read attempt beyond the end of the ramdisk

Package: cdrom
Version: 3.1 r0a "Sarge" Powerpc October 2005

Used the jigdo-images from
http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/3.1_r0a/powerpc/jigdo-dvd/

Starting the installation from dvd-drive with the option "install-2.4"
on a powerbook 5,8 (October 2005), the kernel starts but panics while
attempting to read beyond the end of the ramdisk. It tries to read at
8259 (+/- a few), but the ramdisk ends at 8192. Changing the initrd-size
to 10240 (the same size install/linux-2.6 is using there) within
yaboot.conf helps.
