Yes, it is the stable version.

I think the "unstable" is the result of a minor mistake made during
the CD generation. You will find that the README also says that it's
an unofficial version. The README is wrong - it is the official one.

That's just fine. I presume you got that line from apache's changelog? 
It just means that there was a security update to the package.
