If they claim that the CDs contained are "Debian 2.2 r6 official CDs",
that's not misleading, that's simply a statement that they used the
released images as available from cdimage.debian.org, rather than
creating their own.

If they are claiming that theirs is THE official release, in some
exclusive way, then you're right, they're lying, and we should probably
ask them to reword their publicity.

It would be nice if we had the right to stop them from doing that, but I
don't think we have, given that most people use the unofficial logo
anyway, so we wouldn't be able to stop them using that.

entirely voluntarily (unless you think involvement with Debian is a
symptom of some form of psychosis, which is possible I suppose ;-)

The reason we do that is to avoid vendors making broken images for
themselves, and then giving Debian a bad name by selling thousands of
copies of broken Debian.

At least this way, if they're broken, it's likely to be my fault, so we
get to fix it ;-)
