Well, I did not have a local package mirror, only the isos. So I
renamed them the way they are named in 2.2r4 now (potato-*-*.raw) and
basically ran a "rsync -r cdimage.debian.org::" and instead of the whole
36 hour download, it was done after less than 6 hours. It would have
taken about 36 hours to download all the images completely.
So, yes, there is a HUGE saving! And the md5's where correct.

Exactly. That's why I'm not interested in having a local package
mirror. I simply do not need it.
