You're using boot disk from CVS ?
Anyway, CD should support 2.88 M boot images, it may be just a problem of
giving the right arg to the mkhybrid command line ... does anyone know
about this ?

Use a slightly bigger limit for source CDs :
make list SRCSIZELIMIT=60000000 (or whatever you want)
