OOOOhhh, You ran into the dreaded catch-22 of multicd_0.13

Here is what I found fixes the broken multicd:



> /usr/lib/dpkg/methods/multicd/install:225
> 		$need = join(" ", (split)[0 .. 2]);
> with
> 		$need = $_ ;



The easiest way to get around the problem, is to
run the install up to the point you boot from disk
for the first time; THEN open a VC and apply the patch
to dpkg_multicd.
