Did you prepend "ftp://"; as in "ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian"; ? Otherwise, your
local harddisk will be accessed, and I don't think you've got a complete
Debian archive there...
If you still have problems, please send me the .log file in a private message
(i.e. not to the debian-cd list).
