Hmmm.

Tha Packages files for discs 3 and 4 will all be empty using the default
file lists - there are no binary packages on either. The sizes you have
here look reasonable to me. And do you mean /tmp or /home/ftp/pub/tmp
here?

What do the contents of du say? Check and see how big the slink4 directory
is.

Try running under "script" and then you'll get all your output in the
typescript file - very useful for big runs like this.

Try running under script to get all your output, and also check on the
size of the directory slink4/ in the du file. My favourite guess would be
one of:
you're running out of disc space
I've made a silly mistake in the script and mkisofs is failing - check the
log for this
