Bug#648355: uninstallable on kfreebsd-amd64

Package: synce-hal
Severity: grave
User: debian-bsd@lists.debian.org
Usertags: kfreebsd

Hi,

This package is uninstallable on kfreebsd-amd64 because of its dependency on
ppp. Note that although ppp is in principle a portable program, it won't be
supported on GNU/kFreeBSD (see #648345 for details). For this purpose it
should be considered Linux-specific.

FreeBSD upsteam confirms that synce-hal really can't work without ppp, as
they disabled it in the ports collection for versions of FreeBSD that no
longer provide the ppp program (which upstream refers to as "pppd"):

http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/ports/palm/synce-hal/pkg-plist?rev=1.1

Please consider marking synce-hal as Linux-specific by setting Architecture
to "linux-any" in debian/control.
