Yes, OSS API is only considered obsolete on Linux. FreeBSD upstream
will continue to use it.
Debian GNU/kFreeBSD includes an ALSA emulation layer
(liboss-salsa-dev) but it's incomplete and should be avoided whenever
a package supports OSS.
