For the record:
#605723 contains the wrappers for "route" and "ifconfig",
#609574 introduces the wrapper for "mount".
As far as inconvenience goes, my private machine would be clearly less
dependable without either wrapper. IPv6 connectivity depens on the former
two suggestions, and the latter is for remount/update portability, to cover
for possibly Linux-centric init scripts.
