The insults aren't really necessary. If you're referring to: WARNING: Deprecated config file /etc/modprobe.conf, all config files belong into /etc/modprobe.d/.then that doesn't really tell me how to fix anything (move modprobe.conf into modprobe.d? Move the contents into their own files in modprobe.d?) The modprobe.conf manpage, which I'd consider a logical place to look for details, doesn't make any mention of this either. Incidentally, it also mentions a generate_modprobe.conf script that is no longer distributed with the package.
