I can confirm that also.

And this was the reason why I tried to install midori (which, BTW, you
may have seen with my bugreport), while I was trying to get some browser
working on kFreeBSD.

I *can* connect to an SSL host with curl or wget (say, http://nm.d.o).
Right now, I tried to install the arora browser and it worked. This is
probably the best working solution right now.

The problem with iceweasel may be tied to the ssl libraries that it
uses.  I will try to test it with the versions in experimental, like
Petr suggested.
