Trouble with ACPI on kfreebsd-amd64

I've been using GNU/kFreeBSD intermittently for a month now and have
stumbled on a problem I can't solve.

Since I upgraded my kernel to version 6.2 (via the
kfreebsd-image-6.2-1-amd64-k8 package), I've lost what little
ACPI-functionality I had before upgrading. For example, I can no longer
manually power off my computer using the power button. I'm not sure if
it has anything to do with it, but the 'acpi.ko' module was not
installed by the kernel package in the

/lib/modules/6.2-1-amd64-k8

directory. And there's a symlink in /boot/kernel pointing to this very
file.

I re-downloaded the corresponding .deb, but it did not contain the
missing file. Is it contained in another package (I can't seem to trace
it)? Or have I been wasting my time because there's a way to get the
ACPI-functionality built into the kernel to work?

Any and all help is appreciated by this relative newbie.
