There's been the occasional talk of making a central CVS repository
for all packages, but I don't think there's a lot of advantage to that.
I personally keep old versions of the source files (.dsc, .diff.gz)
but not the binaries. I don't use RCS or CVS to do it though.
Some maintainers do (the cvs-buildpackage tool is designed to assist).
