The installer does not ask for a mirror, while the 12.11 live image did so.
Only glancing at this, this would explain a number of reports we've received regarding suboptimal installations from Live images. It would be great to have fixed in 13.1, and this looks like something that doesn't need any updates of d-i component(s) or d-i itself? I'm usually uploading src:debian-installer on the Monday preceeding point releases, but I'm happy to wait a little in case something else is needed here.
This has been fixed in the git repository of live-build [1], no other modifications are required. I've seen the network mirror question in openQA [2], so it works again as intended.
Since for the Debian point releases the git repository of live-build is used and not a packaged version, there is no hurry to make a new release of live-build yet (and to backport it).
The live images can use various sources for the d-i image: * a freshly built d-i from git (sid and forky)* the daily d-i image from https://cdimage.debian.org/images/daily-builds/sid_d-i/ (currently unused)
* the d-i as found in deb.debian.org (trixie and bookworm)However, the udebs that are placed on the live ISO are still filtered by 'udeb_exclude'. Therefore the trixie 13.0.0 live images were all affected. The bookworm live images were not affected, there the filter file was empty.
In short: now that the fix is in the live-build git repository, the point release for 13.1 will have 'apt-mirror-setup' again.
