Package: installation-reports Severity: normal Boot method: USB Image version: TrixieRC1 Date: 2025/05/18 Machine: IntelNUC knockoff Partitions: full disk for Debian, one partion Base System Installation Checklist: [O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it Initial boot: [O] Detect network card: [O] Configure network: [O] Detect media: [O] Load installer modules: [O] Clock/timezone setup: [O] User/password setup: [O] Detect hard drives: [O] Partition hard drives: [O] Install base system: [O] Install tasks: [O] Install boot loader: [O] Overall install: [O] Hi, I'm contacting you as cruft-ng maintainer, I would suggest you to also try this software on freshly installed Trixie: one should get an empty report. Instead I get all the files "firmware-sof-signed", but this package is not officialy installed as seen by dpkg/apt/cruft-ng. Should it be installed or not is an orthogonal problem. (I don't know); but a live systemd should not end up with so many unknown loose files; that create uncertainity wether these are needed or not for daily operation. Greetings and thank you for the work ! Alexandre

Right now, that's only about firmware-sof-signed, but we might have firmware-intel-signed as well later on.
