Having tested all desktop choices on Debian 12 (including no desktop),
I'm pretty certain there's no connectivity issue in any of them, be it
with ifupdown or NM. If things don't work, you really should mention
details, ideally attaching logs. You didn't do that.

We cannot do anything about your being unhappy with the fact there's
no systemd-networkd/netplan in the picture.

Closing accordingly as not actionable.
