Thanks!

I've noticed this with both current Bookworm 12 Live images, as well as
daily Trixie 13 Live images. Any attempt to create an LVM VG or LV in
Calamares results in an immediate crash.

Where is the proper venue to report this?

Debian cannot do much here I think, this should be reported upstream to
https://calamares.io/

So that would be on Github:
https://github.com/calamares/calamares/issues

Their bugtracker moved to codeberg
https://codeberg.org/Calamares/calamares/issues

You might be out of luck here, I found this 6 years old issue:
https://codeberg.org/Calamares/calamares/issues/1132

As an alternative, you could use another partition manager tool (e.g. gparted) to prepare the layout of the hard disk(s).

With kind regards,
Roland Clobus
