Bug#1080167: installation-reports: Installation programs should give an option to use ipv4 instead of ipv6

Greetings, Holger

Thank you for your answer. I didn't now about the manual network configuration in the expert mode. I'm was a new Debian user, so I decided to use more simple way of installing

I still think that ipv4/v6/auto switch would be useful in the simple installation mode. I guess a new user wouldn't like to go through the expert mode just for the single option while being worried to break something

Such a switch would be very useful in my country (Belarus) because as far as I know our internet providers rely on ipv4 heavily and set it as default for regular users

Did you know, that the "expert mode" of the installer allows, to manually
configure the network?
(When booting the installer, choose "Advanced options" and then "Graphical
expert install" or "Expert install".)

You would have the option, to force IPv4 that way.
Would that be sufficient?
