Bug#1091421: KDE: gnome-keyring gets installed by only installing KDE desktop environment
Package: task-kde-desktop
Version: 3.73
Severity: important
X-Debbugs-Cc: vajdao@freemail.hu
Dear Maintainer,
I installed KDE desktop (only that)
I have a kwallet set up, with blank password, so that the keyring wouldn't
prompt me.
* What led up to the situation?
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
* What was the outcome of this action?
I installed google-chrome, and when I opened it asked me to input my password
(but only chrome).
* What outcome did you expect instead?
Keyring unlock shouldn't have been popped up at all..
Then I scratched my head, of why.. So I launched up a journalctl, and find out
that gnome-keyring was triggering it..
* Opinions:
Kwallet is a keyring itself, so having gnome-keyring makes confusion just like
in my case, because I was already thinking that I've done my setup correctly
for kwallet, why is it then popping still up, till I found out that a gnome-
component got installed.
Why is the gnome-keyring get installed with KDE desktop?
If this is not the relevant bugreport thread for this, feel free to redirect it
to the relevant package's bugreport thread.
Thank you,
Peter.
