Package: kbd-chooser Version: 1.16 Severity: normal kbd-chooser contains several files which were taken from the kbd package and hacked up for use in d-i. These files are now quite out of date (they date from kbd 1.08, while the current upstream version is 1.12), and it's unclear whether or indeed how to merge upstream changes back into kbd-chooser. I've been trying to track down some problems with Unicode input, and it would be much easier to figure out what's going on if we were using approximately the same code in the installer as we are in the installed system. Ideally, the kbd source package would produce a suitable udeb (maybe containing a library that kbd-chooser can link to, to save the overhead of an additional executable?), but I don't know kbd-chooser's exact requirements so I'm filing this bug here first. Thanks, -- Colin Watson [cjwatson@debian.org]
