Re: Fwd: Missing driver for audio component

My apologies for having posted an e-mail without the correct body content.

Sorry for having posted to the rong mailing list.

The FWDed e-mail contains missing driver MSGes.

It doesn't.

Here are the messags.

syslog:894:Sep 1 22:21:14 kernel: [ 3.715814] sof-audio-pci-intel-mtl 0000:00:1f.3: firmware: failed to load intel/sof-ipc4/mtl/sof-mtl.ri (-2)

Apparently intel/sof-ipc4/mtl/sof-mtl.ri got added to
firmware-sof-signed only in version 2023.09, so after the bookworm
release.

I don't know if there are plans to backport newer firmware package
releases to bookworm, that would include it?

Alternatively, John, you can use a testing debian installer image, that
will contain up-to-date firmware content.

You can also follow the "Loading missing firmware" section of
https://www.debian.org/releases/stable/amd64/ch06s04.en.html

Samuel, I appreciate the feedback and the extra efforts you had to put
in as I did not do my job properly.

MY original post containing the logs is at [1].

Also, you need to tell debian-boot exactly which installation image you
used, to make sure we are talking about the same thing, otherwise the
discussion risks running at lengths without understanding anything.

Sorry about that.
