Package: unifont

Version: 1:13.0.03-1

Hello,

I have installed Debian Bullseye with Gnome. I am using Emacs with the Spacemacs addons. In the terminal (and console) mode I have had difficulties with the UTF8 letters 24BA och 24C0 (displayed by Spacemacs in the ‘mode line’) being not displayed at all. I was using the default monospace font used by Gnome-Terminal

After installed the unifont and the xfonts-unifont packages the problem disappeared (my conclusion being that the unifont font was used to render the letters that could not be rendered by Déjà vu).

Ubuntu installs unifont by default. It would be nice to have it installed on Debian also by default (it would have saved me a few hours googling around, looking for a solution to this issue….)

Kind regards, Daniel

I do not believe it is reasonable to have unifont installed for
everyone because it is needed for one addon for an app (emacs) when
that app is not installed by default and the addon isn't even in
Debian.

Ubuntu does not install unifont by default either.

Therefore, I am closing this bug. You could try filing a bug directly
to Debian's emacs package with your request.

Thank you,
Jeremy Bícha
