Trixie netinstall on Dell Precision Tower 5810 (0617)



I submitted a bug for this, but haven't seen it show up on the list, so I'm assuming the report was rejected.  Still, I figured you should know that netinstall on this particular Dell model results in a perpetual boot loop every time the type of install is chosen on the first screen.  It does not matter if a DVD or a USB stick is used to boot the install.  Reportbug asked for some information that I could not figure out how to attach at the time, so I'll enter into this email instead.

I worked around the install problem by using an old Gateway machine to install Debian, then moving the hard drive to the intended system and re-configuring the interfaces file.  This works, but it is a lot of extra hoops to jump through.

Here is the partition information for which reportbug asked, but I doubt it's relevant as there were no partitions at the point where the install failed.
