Wrong error message in debian-installer

Hello,

I made a stupid error while partitioning: I created a new partition
whose size was 50 MB (instead of 50 GB). I did dot notice the error
and went on with the installation process. Suddenly the installation
stopped claiming that

"package util-linux_2.38.1-5+b1_amd64.deb is corrupt".

The reason was simply that there was no space left on the device, and
there was no room enough to accommodate that package. The package was
not corrupt. I went crazy for one day, until I finally noticed my error.

I strongly recommend that when there is no space left on the device,
the debian-installer raise the usual error message

"No space left on device"

instead of "package xxx is corrupt". I hope this comment is useful.

Best regards

Antonio Greco

Oggetto: iso image corrupted?
      A: owner@bugs.debian.org

Hello,

it seems that package util-linux_2.38.1-5+b1_amd64.deb
included in

https://gemmei.ftp.acc.umu.se/debian-cd/current/amd64/iso-cd/debian-12.4.0-amd64-netinst.iso

is corrupted (see attachment). Can you please notify this
to the maintainer?

Best regards,

Antonio Greco
