As I reported on December 23, 2021, this bug appears to have been resolved.

 

I have verified the fix in the following distributions:

 

  1. https://deb.debian.org/debian/dists/bullseye/main/installer-armhf/20210731/images/
  2. https://deb.debian.org/debian/dists/bullseye/main/installer-armhf/20210731+deb11u3/images/

 

I did not create the fix, so I cannot detail how it was fixed.
