Red herring confirmed, based on my rebuilding (against testing) a
netboot-gtk image, with all 4 udebs produced by src:cdebconf downgraded
to the previous version (by reinjecting them, deb-reversion'd with an
epoch, through build/localudebs).

Out of curiosity, I've also reverted the deletion of fontconfig tweaks
(due to the other bug that is language and possibly font-specific). I
had little hope, and that didn't change anything indeed…

I've ran out of (apparently stupid this time around…) wild guesses, so I
suppose after a little nap it's going to be (heavy) hammer time…

Cheers,
