OK, thanks! It went further, but I'm now facing this:
Exiting petitboot. Type 'exit' to return.
You may run 'pb-sos' to gather diagnostic data
No password set, running as root. You may set a password in the System Configuration screen.
# kexec -l vmlinux -i initrd.gz -e
load_kernel: Open of vmlinux failed: No such file or directory
# kexec -s vmlinux -i initrd.gz -e
file_load failed: Bad file descriptor
but those files are in the directory where I started qemu-system-ppc64
from. Did I miss a step?
