Where's the difference here? There is no difference. Hence it's "the
Swiss French" layout which is also used for Swiss Italian.

Rumantsch uses the Swiss German layout btw. Hence also no separate
layout, either.

Drop those vendors, any vendor suffices. And yes, there's only one
type of printed layout. But there are two (and only two) driver
settings.

No. It means that Debian follows the standard. Have you ever read the
Wikipedia link Didier sent you?

This is IMHO the only acceptable variant, except that Rumantsch uses
"Swiss German" layout. (Again: Have you ever read the Wikipedia link
Didier sent you?)

But then we should name it "Swiss German/Rumantsch/Liechtenstein
German" and "Swiss French/Lëtzebuergesch" to be correct in your sense
of correctness.</sarcasm>

It still deviates from the fact that these layouts are actually
_named_ "Swiss German" (SG) and "Swiss French" (SF). See the Wikipedia
article Didier referred to. Again.

This is probably because they are the two biggest groups using them.
Nobody calls the German keyboard layout "German/Austrian/Belgian
German/South Tyrol layout" either. And Austria has way more people
that Romandie, Ticino or Graubünden.

So maybe you now get an idea, why this is the same in FreeBSD and
other Linux distributions: Because it's correct.

Yes. And they're still called "French layout" or "AZERTY". They're no
different in Switzerland.

P.S. to Didier and the readers of debian-boot and bug report #983491:
Didier tried to close that bug already in
https://lists.debian.org/debian-switzerland/2021/02/msg00002.html but
caught the wrong subdomain ("lists" instead of "bugs"). I've allowed
myself to bounce Didier's message to the bug report and really closing
the bug report with this mail.
