First line of log after POST ends and boot begins, after "Loading ramdisk", is an error in "Linuxhome-vg", then log seems normal except that "kernel not loaded"
in RED, and "NVIDIA driver not loaded" (or something similar) errors. Log stops with "Ctrl-C to stop disk system checks."
<Ctrl-Alt-Del> allows reboot. Most boot options give error "load kernel first." Work-around is to boot to kernel 4.19. Have tried
re-installing grub2, etc. Under kernel 4.19 the OS can find /dev/LinuxHome-vg/*, which is two links, "root" to /dev/dm-0 and "swap-1"
to /dev/dm-1. Synaptic shows no broken packages. Root shows initrd.img of 41.7 MiB, vmlinuz of 5.4 MiB. Relevant lines in grub.config seem to be
