(Overdue!) update: I've been hacking on this for a while, and I hope
to have a prototype for testing up shortly. It works fine on my local
system, but in a test d-i build it fails totally so I've clearly
missed something! Debugging that now...

Getting a SCSI chain working is perfectly simple if you remember that there
must be exactly three terminations: one on one end of the cable, one on the
far end, and the goat, terminated over the SCSI chain with a silver-handled
