Re: Bug#951749: System installation hangs on decompressing tzdata

I tried do reproduce the bug on another system and it seems it was some sort of problem with VirtualBox and FreeBSD.

Any other machine I installed Debian it is ok.

Since I won’t be playing with that machine anymore, I guess you can close this issue.

Thanks!

Package: tzdata

System install hangs on trying to uncompress tzdata.

I tried with the mini image, DVD and DVD without network (hoping it would
force not to download anything and using what is on DVD)

But in all tries the installation hangs (both on graphical and text)
just after tzdata is being uncompressed.

After a red screen said it tried 5 times and cannot continue, I went to
sheel and was able to read something like this on the log:

debootstrap: dpkg: error while cleaning up
debootstrap: unable to trstore backup version of
'/usr/share/zoneinfo/right/Australi...' and many other lines similary to
this.

Can you please provide the exact log output? A photo is also fine.

Thanks,
Aurelien
