Comments/Problems:
the install failed in 2 ways:

1) fails to offer to install the available set of software,
2) fails to install grub.

the install produces an unbootable system.

Description of the install:

no network connection was available for the install.

i used the command-line install method.

the installer performed "Installing base system".

then the following message box showed:

[!!] configure the package manager
an attempt to configure apt to install additional packages from the cd
failed.
<go back> <continue>

press <continue>.

the installer offered only "standard utilities".

note: the installer did not ask to mount remaining dvds in the set.

press <continue>.

the following message boxes showed one after the other:

[!!] install the grub boot loader on a hard disk

grub installation failed.
the grub-pc package failed to install into /target/
without the grub boot loader the installed system will not boot
<go back> <continue>

[!!] install the grub boot loader on a hard disk
an installation step failed.
you can try to run the failing item again from the menu or skip it and
choose something else.
the failing step is install the grub boot loader on a hard disk.
<go back> <continue>

at this point i terminated the install.

That's installation-reports for Debian 7 with
- undefined errors
- problems which are likely to have been fixed in the meantime
- successful installation

Because of the age, there is no chance to analyse them further and therefore
they are no longer relevant or of any use for current releases:
