Package: installation-reports
Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
   * What led up to the situation?
On a MacbookAir6,2 (2013, Haswell graphics) I booted the installer
(
http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/stretch_di_alpha8/amd64/iso-dvd/debian-stretch-DI-alpha8-amd64-DVD-1.iso
)
from a USB disk from the EFI boot menu without problem.
But quickly, the screen briefly displayed a black screen with the
following error message:
error. no suitable video mode found. booting in blind mode.
Quickly, the install menu appeared.
But when selecting either "Install" or "Graphical Install" the previous
message is shown once again. Black screen. Period
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
I edited the grub command line of "Install" menu, adding "nomodeset"
   * What was the outcome of this action?
Not any better. Black screen
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
That the screen displayed something in order to proceed to the
installation and get rid of OSX
PS: the following data come from my main computer, not from the one
where I bumped into the install bug
