Hi,

 This behavior was fixed in 1.0.97 as
>  * Forbid the usage of non-empty directories with --print-debs and
>    --make-tarball

 Now we can see message as below.

$ debootstrap  --print-debs  stretch ~/tmp/stretch
E: Target directory '/home/henrich/tmp/stretch' is not empty and it
would be wiped
