Bug#835993: 8.5 installer DHCP problem

Hello again!

Thank you Geert for your time and effort. I think I managed to find the fault.

You asked the right questions. I started thinking if anything was different since last install network-wise and there was. I have a new router now. The old one was suffering with bad wifi signal and had to go. However, I did not get rid of it. Plugged it in and tried the installer. Lo and behold! Network configured!

Sorry about wasting your time.

Wonder what it was about this piece of equipment ( Belkin N-150)  that drops the connection? Interestingly Ubuntu and Mint installers got through without hiccups (well, Mint said it lost connection but managed to reconnect ).

Anyway. Thank you again.

May the Force be with you. Always.

What we know, is that the installer DHCP problem is reproducable
by Kaarnijoki. We also know that 8.1 did work for Kaarnijoki.

I don't know what is causing the reported problem.

Kaarnijoki please tell about your network and DHCP server
that you think might provide addtional information.
