I don't. It's ~270ms each (I added another log with timestamps).

It might be true for a shiny Core-i7 system. But a low-end laptop like
the mentioned one is a different league. OTOH it's just one year old and
manages to boot in ~1min. Wasting 5-10% of the boot time just for
keyboard/console setup is ridiculous.

Or ~1.8s on the mentioned device.

Even on my not-so-lame desktop (Phenom II 3.2ghz) setupcon needs
almost 1.7s. That is WAY too much, IMHO.
