Partitions: 20 GB virtual disk with default partitioning

Output of lspci -knn (or lspci -nn): no system bootable

Comments/Problems: Installed system does not boot. 
 Under rescue boot and command journalctl -xb near the end of the log there is an error report:

rescue:service:Failed at step EXEC spawning /bin/plymouth: no such file or directory

The error number returned by this process is 2.
