Five years ago you reported this bug. Unfortunately, I have no idea
what might have caused it. This bug can't be caused only by
console-setup. I suppose there was something wrong with the way
console-setup interacted with other packages in the system. Or maybe
there was some hardware problem.
So, I would like to ask you -- are you still able to reproduce this bug?
If not, then it will be better to close this bug report as nothing
similar has been reported during the years. Otherwise, we will have to
think more about the possible causes.
