Just installing from usb live
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
I put on /etc/rc.local the following three lines:
vbetool dpms off
sleep 1
vbetool dpms on
* What was the outcome of this action?
Solved the problem, the screen went garbled but after a few seconds all become normal after screen blanking
* What outcome did you expect instead?
