   * What led up to the situation?
- we try to netboot to a network console with debian

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
- boot netboot (all debian versions show the same behavior) and try to get an ip from a dhcp

   * What was the outcome of this action?

- machine should get an ip like it does with ubuntus version of debian installer.
