Bug#739011: debian-installer: broken monospace font in g-i

[ Hello Keith & Joss, question for you below. ]

di-utils-shell changed (a lot) but downgrading it to the version
20130430 was built against changes nothing.

Relevant fonts-* and ttf-* didn't change.

fontconfig-udeb was bumped from 2.9.0-7.1 to 2.10.2-2 (between 20130430
and 20131014), and rebuilding an image using 2.9.0-7.1 versioned as
1:2.9.0-7.1 under localudebs/ restores both the monospaced font and the
absence of an extra vertical scroll bar.

@Keith & Joss: I see nothing obvious in both those changelog entries
which would explain why fontconfig would make a difference as to picking
up the right font:

Any hints? (no pun intended)

Mraw,
KiBi.
