Bug#762840: installation-reports

Package: installation-reports

Boot method: USB stick
Image version: http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/jessie_di_beta_1/amd64/iso-cd/debian-jessie-DI-b1-amd64-netinst.iso
Date: 25 Sep 2014
Machine: MSI GE40 2PC-481US Processor: I7 Memory: 8GB
Partitions:
During the install I was able to shrink the Win Partition and add an Ext4 and Swap partition.
All this worked well. Output of lspci -knn (or lspci -nn): 00: Intel stuff
01: Nvidia Video
03: Atheros Ethernet
04: Realtek Wireless

Comments/Problems:
With the exception of WIFI device requiring firmware loaded (known problem),
install went smoothly. Told it to ignore network setup.

But on reboot, the Grub2 menu appears, and upon selecting the Debian/Linux option
... it hangs.
I see the two grub2 messages, about linux then about initrd, but then it stops.
I can use grub2 to boot to Win8.1 and to the uefi-bios though.
I've turned off FastStart in Win 8.1 and SecureBoot in uefi-bios.
The startup in uefi-bios remains set to uefi as that's how the Win is installed.
Will try a wheezy installation next and see what happens.
