Bug#748579: base-installer fails to copy the live system

Package: base-installer
Version: unkown

When I try to install Debian from an usb-stick, tar fails to remove a file and the installer aborts.
I use the following partitioning (in case that has any effect, which I didn't test):

I have one partition for /boot on one HDD.
I have a partition of equal size on each of 2 HDDs for a RAID 1.
This RAID partition is split using LVM to one encrypted partition for / and one encrypted partition for swap.

In the "install the system" step, the following error message is shown:

An installation step failed. You can try to run the failing item again form the menu, or skip it and choose something else. The failing step is: Install the system

On virtual console 4 the following error message is shown:

base-installer: error: The tar process copying the live system failed (only 37082 out of 163889 files have been copied, last file was ).
main-menu[277]: (process: 23009): tar: can't remove old file ./usr/share/doc/libjson0 Is a directory

I tried to run the step again but it failed again at the same point.

I am using http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current-live/i386/iso-hybrid/debian-live-7.5.0-i386-xfce-desktop.iso from 2014-05-05 05:59.
I checked file integrity after the download with md5sum.
I created the live-usb-stick with UNetbootin on an Ubuntu 14.04 machine.
